Young Golfers Compete at Betchworth Park GC

On Wednesday 6th July Schools from across the Mole Valley area met at Betchworth Park Golf Club for a Tri Golf Competition. Tri-Golf was developed to enable golf to be delivered to primary school children by teachers within the school environment. It consists of a range of fun-based games and activities which introduce children to golf as a sport.

There were five schools involved and seven teams competing to win a trophy sponsored by our hosts Betchworth Park Golf Club. We had some fantastic sports leaders from the Ashcombe who ran the activities, as well as great volunteers from the ladies team at Betchworth. Although the weather was a bit mixed the rain kept away and it was a great event.

The children took part in activities around the principles behind putting and driving which included having to hit targets, complete a course and even a mini driving range. It was all very exciting and the final scores were very close. In the end it was the Greville School who came out on top. Well done to all those who took part and thank you to Betchworth Golf club for hosting this super event. Thanks also go to SSCo Rona Sangster who was the lead organiser for the event.
